A 3D ride featuring children's cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants has won over young users.
Set in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom, the ride features all the main characters from the popular cartoon.
Before it opened to the public, it was tested by pupils from Huntcliff School, in Saltburn, east Cleveland, while they were on a day trip to the Life Science Centre, in Newcastle.
One of the children, Gary Wright, 11, said: "The ride was really exciting and fun."
To celebrate the opening of the ride, the Life Science Centre is running SpongeBob-themed events throughout half term.
Events in which young people can take part include workshops on a deep sea diving theme.
Suitable for children from age five upwards, the workshops have been running every half hour.
The centre's SpongeBob SquarePants ride will run until October 22 next year.
