A BUTCHER has collected an award for outstanding service to the great British banger.
Beavers, of Masham, North Yorkshire, received the recognition from the British Sausage Appreciation Society.
TV chef Lesley Waters presented shop manager Trevor Miller with a golden statue.
Four years ago, the firm moved production from its shop in Masham to Melmerby, near Ripon.
Partner Paul Dennis said the company made between 10,000 and 15,000 sausages a day, supplying them to restaurants, hotels and shops across North Yorkshire.
He said: "It's fantastic to receive the award.
"We have won more than 30 but we were nominated for this one by the public, which makes it a little more special."
The awards were part of British Sausage Week.
Nominations were received for local butchers, school cooks and mothers who cook up their own tasty bangers-and-mash dishes.
British Sausage Week also raised funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
