TWO Methodist churches in the Durham area are staging musical events on Saturday.
Pianist Alan Bowers will give a recital at Carrville Methodist Church, with a programme of works by Mozart and Schubert, finishing with Chopin's Polonaise Militaire.
The performance will be on the new grand piano at the recently re-opened church, in the High Street, Carrville, at 2pm.
Later, the North Road Methodist Church, in the city centre, hosts a concert by the Caprians, a mixed-voice choir from Gateshead, starting at 7pm. Their varied repertoire includes North-East folk songs, sacred pieces and popular songs.
