CHURCHES in Bishop Auckland have joined forces to hold a HIV/Aids awareness day.
The event at the Four Clocks, in Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland, on Saturday is being supported by the Bishop of Durham and the town's MP Derek Foster.
It will start with an information drop-in before going on to a workshop and finish with a supper meal and music in the evening.
Event co-ordinator John Niven said: "We are particularly hoping that young people in the town will come along to get the facts and find out what they can do in response to this pandemic which is going to have major affect on their generation."
In South Africa, a centre has been set up in an old church building to support people who have the virus.
