OPPONENTS of plans to build two detached houses say the scheme would be too intensive a development.
Separate planning applictions have been tabled for neighbouring sites in Pateley Bridge, sparking objection from the parish council and protest letters from residents.
One application involves plans for a house and detached double garage at The Culvert, Old Church Lane.
The scheme has brought ten letters of protest and an objection from the parish council, saying the scheme was too intensive. If approved, the scheme would see a detached property built in the side garden of The Culvert.
Residents said it would amount to crammed development, mean a loss of trees and would be close to transmitting masts.
Planning officer Linda Drake is recommending refusal to the Ripon area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council when it meets on Tuesday.
The second application is for a neighbouring site at Barnstones, Old Church Lane, which also involves building the new home in the garden.
Again, the parish council described the plan as over-intensive and letters of objection make similar points to the The Culvert scheme.
Mrs Drake is again recommending refusal.
