DERELICT allotments in a village have been transformed into a community garden, complete with a human sundial.
The garden, in Spofforth, near Harrogate, is a millennium project run by the parish council, local societies, residents and students from Askham Bryan College which will be opened on Sunday.
June Nelsey, vice-chairwoman of Spofforth Parish Council, said: "It is heartening to see so many of the villagers taking advantage of the peace and tranquillity offered in the new millennium garden.
