COMMUNITY groups and voluntary organisations that want to go 'green' are being offered expert help.
Groups interested in starting a recycling, re-use or composting scheme are being urged to take advantage of four free taster sessions being organised through North Yorkshire County Council's community solutions programme.
Each one-to-one session will last up to an hour and experts will provide advice.
They can answer questions about kerbside collections, furniture and white goods re-use, composting green waste and kitchen waste, publicity and educating the public about recycling.
All consultants are available to provide advice on legislation and licensing on each subject area.
Sessions will take place at Scarborough on Thursday, November 25 from 9am to noon; Malton on November 25 from 2pm to 4pm; Bedale on Friday, November 26 from 9am to noon and in Harrogate on November 26 from 2pm to 4pm.
The executive member for environmental services, John Fort, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for community and voluntary groups to get some free advice on a one-to-one basis on setting up and running these types of schemes."
