THE curtain will rise on the life story of a drunken megalomaniac next week.
The Tragedian: The Rise to Fame of Edmund Kean will be performed at the Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, for five nights from Saturday, November 6.
Alister O'loughlin, from the Prodigal Theatre Company, plays all 20 characters in the story of the 19th Century actor who terrorised London theatreland.
The play is of particular relevance because Kean once performed at the Richmond theatre.
Performances will begin at 7.30pm, and tickets are £2 to £10.50, available on (01748) 825252.
