YOUNG people are brightening up streets on two Bishop Auckland estates next spring by spending their half-term planting daffodil bulbs.
Members of Auckland After Schools Club and Henknowle Junior Youth Club carried out the planting near the Auckland Youth and Community Centre, Woodhouse Close, and along the Black Path, near the Taylor Road Community Centre in Henknowle.
Paul Belton, play development worker at the youth centre, said: "The young people were very keen to get involved in the bulb planting.
"Hopefully, the involvement of young people in the project will mean they are protective of the plants when they flower in the spring."
The Pride Campaign is running more bulb planting sessions next month.
