FEMALE entrepreneurs are urged to attend a conference in Harrogate next month.
The Make it Your Business conference will discuss the opportunities available to women and the support in overcoming barriers for women in business - particularly those in rural areas.
These include the impact of caring and domestic responsibilities; isolation; difficulties in accessing finance; personal confidence, and the lack of appropriate role models.
The keynote speech will be made by Izzy Warren Smith, director and founder of WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise).
Entrepreneurs attending include Sally Robinson, founder of Amplebosom of Helmsley; Juliet Lee, personal and professional coach of Sunflower Coaching in Richmond; and Janette Benaddi, managing director of Medvance of Selby, a contract research organisation.
Hosts for the conference, on Tuesday, November 16, will be Business Link York and North Yorkshire in conjunction with WiRE, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and WORCNET (Women's Opportunity for Rural Contact Through Networking, Education and Training).
