PARENTS and teachers are celebrating after their school was described as 'very good' in a recent Ofsted report.
Park Lane Infant School, in Guisborough, was inspected in June, and the overall evaluation by Ofsted was that it was very good.
Inspectors praised the achievement of all groups of pupils in all subjects.
Barbara Punshon, chairman of the governors said: "This report confirms that the school has improved consistently since its last inspection in 1998, which shows what hard work and dedication of staff and pupils can do." Headteacher Pat Almond said: "We celebrate the success of our Ofsted inspection through continuing partnership between school and home.
"All members of staff are enthusiastic, committed and dedicated."
Earlier this year, the infant school won the Basic Skills Quality Mark for Primary Schools, demonstrating that it is committed to raising standards in reading, writing, spelling and number work. It was the first time the school had won the award, which lasts three years.
