THE RAF is to visit schools in the region as part of a travelling maths tour.
The workshops are designed to help students improve their GCSE maths grades by presenting the subject in a real-life and fun environment.
It is part of the RAF careers maths education programme, which communicates the practical uses of the subject in the work environment.
Group captain Dawn McCafferty said: "Putting maths in a real life context has proved enormously helpful in getting students engaged with maths, and teachers have really welcomed this.
"Employers are crying out for new recruits to have the basic numeracy skills required for day-to-day work and our resources help to achieve this."
They will visit Laurence Jackson, Guisborough, east Cleveland, on Monday; Hurworth House school, Hurworth, near Darlington, on Tuesday; Woodham Comprehensive, Newton Aycliffe, on Wednesday; Longfield School, Darlington, on Thursday; and Red House School, Norton, near Stockton, on Friday.
