INQESTS are due to be held in Bishop Auckland next week into the deaths of four men killed in three separate tragedies on south Durham roads.
Marine engineering mechanic Craig Samuels, 21, of Westwick, near Barnard Castle, died on March 14, following an accident on the A67 near Piercebridge.
Michael Hopper, 35, of Laburnum Grove, South Shields, a single man whose parents live in Barnard Castle, was driving two friends to work when he was killed on the road between Eggleston and Barnard Castle in July last year.
Geoffrey Donaldson, 57, of The Wynd, at Bowes, died when his van was involved in an accident on the A66, near Greta Bridge, in October 2003.
Christopher Laidlaw, 44, of Linton Rise, Catterick, suffered multiple injuries in the same accident and died during surgery at James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
The hearings are at Bishop Auckland Magistrates' Court on Tuesday afternoon.
