DARLINGTON Borough Council has awarded three young people £300 each to take part in musical, sporting, social and educational activities.
Keen ice hockey player Andrew Finn will use the cash in representing England under-14s in Windsor, Canada, at the Ice Hockey Championships in December.
Ellie Martin will use the money for a trip abroad when she takes part in a World Challenge Expedition in Tanzania next month.
Alice Woods will spend the money on taking part in the National Children's Orchestra's under-14 residential courses in Pontefract and Dorset.
The council also gave £150 to the Tempest Social Club towards outings and events.
