RADIO students from a North-East university have won a string of nominations in the BBC Radio 1 Student Radio Awards.
Utopia FM, at the University of Sunderland, is up for four titles at the awards in London next month.
Judges for the competition, hosted by Radio 1 DJs Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, shortlisted Utopia in the best station, best marketing, news and talk, and best male categories.
Radio production and management degree students Paul Elliot, Sarah Urban, Matt Horne and former degree student Jonathan Wood have been shortlisted for the awards.
The awards are backed by Radio 1 and some of the biggest independent production companies in the industry.
Utopia, which is on air twice a year for a week and online 24 hours a day, plays the latest music and news, as well as offering advice and information for students.
The winners will be announced on November 19.
