ROB Andrew wants to see Jamie Noon alongside likely captain Mike Tindall in the England centre for the Autumn internationals.
The 25-year-old Newcastle Falcons player should be preferred to Will Greenwood for the first match against Canada on Saturday week, according to the Falcons' Director of Rugby.
"I would let Jamie and Mike Tindall get on with it during the Autumn Tests," said Andrew, who saw Noon named Man of the Match after Sunday's Heineken Cup win against Perpignan.
"Jamie's form has been good and England have to move forward ahead of the next World Cup. The sooner they can do that the better and he is ready for it.
"In the last two weeks he has been forced to play inside centre for us because of injuries and the good thing with him and Tindall is that they can both operate in either position.
"Sometimes you just have to go with form players and if that means playing right and left instead of inside and outside then so be it.
"It's time Jamie was given a chance in the team and not just a single game.
"All international players need time to settle and I believe over the last two years he has earned that right."
Noon troubled Perpignan throughout Sunday's game, despite needing treatment after having an ankle trodden on in the first minute.
He felt it might have been deliberate and there were also accusations of gouging after full back Matt Burke emerged from a ruck with an eye injury, which persuaded him to hand over the goal-kicking to Dave Walder.
But Andrew said there would be no action against a club who have been involved in a spate of citings in European combat.
Wasps pointed the finger after their scrum half Rob Howley had his wrist stamped on last February, suffering an injury which yesterday forced him to announce his retirement from the game.
Then Perpignan cited three Edinburgh players after beating them 23-0 at home in this season's opening Heineken Cup match, but none of the accusations were followed through.
After two wins Newcastle top their group, but now have to wait until back-to-back games against Edinburgh on Dec 5 (home) and 11 for their next European combat.
It's back to the Zurich Premiership on Friday night, when they visit high-flying Sale and new signing Cory Harris will be eligible for his debut.
The 29-year-old New Zealander is a natural open side flanker, which Newcastle lack, although Colin Charvis performed superbly there on Sunday.
