DURHAM Tees Valley Airport has appointed KERRY QUINN as director of airport operations.
Ms Quinn, 37, from Yarm, joined the airport, formerly known as Teesside Airport before its name change last month, as head of human resources in 1999.
She will help with the planning and implementation of a £3m passenger terminal building at Durham Tees Valley.
In her newly-created position Ms Quinn will oversee the management of all operational functions at the airport, including air traffic control, maintenance and terminal operations.
She said she was excited to be so closely involved in the expansion plans for the airport.
She said: "I was born and bred in the area, so I am proud to be working at my regional airport at such an important time in its growth and development."
Hugh Lang, airport managing director, said: "In her previous role as head of airport services, Kerry ensured the successful delivery of a £1.5m investment project as the first key phase of the airport's redevelopment. This included internal terminal redevelopments, additional car park facilities and links with the new access road."
