BUS operator Go North East has appointed four apprentices.
The company will train two mechanics, DAVID CURRY and CRAIG ABBOTT, and two electricians, IAN FOX and RICHARD FOSTER.
Mr Curry, 19, from Consett, is based at Stanley, County Durham, and joins the firm following his A-levels.
Mr Abbott and Mr Foster are based in North Shields and Mr Fox, 19, from Spennymoor, is based at Bishop Auckland, County Durham. After four months in the Navy he decided to take an apprenticeship instead.
Ian Coull, training and development manager at Go North East, said: "We have been supporters of the modern apprenticeship scheme for many years and always have a lot of interest from school-leavers looking to earn money and gain relevant training and qualifications at the same time.
"The scheme is gaining momentum, which is great news for us as a large company as we are helping to secure the workforce of the future."
