DVD retailer Silverscreen is to open a store creating six jobs.
The retailer, which has opened 26 stores throughout the country, has taken 315sq metres of space at The Bridges Shopping Centre, in Sunderland, which attracts 500,000 visitors a week.
Silverscreen, which was founded two years ago, plans to open a store every week for the next three years.
The Bridges centre has nearly 50,000sq metres of shop space following an extension to the site four years ago that doubled its size.
Silverscreen marketing co-ordinator David Powell said: "The Bridges is a very attractive retail environment. We had been looking to make an opening on Wearside in a location which complements the drama surrounding our product and our company."
The Bridges is owned and operated by Land Securities, which provides commercial accommodation and property services throughout the UK.
