A PROJECT designed to reinvigorate science teaching across the region has been launched.
Science Learning Centre North East - part of a £51m Government project - is to start a programme of courses in January providing development training for the region's teachers and technicians.
Over the past two weeks, the organisation has held a series of events at Framwellgate School in Durham City, Hepscott Park in Northumberland, Mortimer School in South Shields, and Middlesbrough Teaching and Learning Centre designed to make the teaching of the subject more interesting.
During the events, guests were able to look into the universe and see stars forming; find out how to avoid detection in a robbery; examine rocks and soils; explore the ethics of genetics and stem cell research and discover how molecules become medicines.
