WOMEN bowlers teamed up off the green to mount a year- long fundraising campaign supporting two charity funds.
The Cockton Hill Ladies Bowling Club held raffles, tombolas, baked cakes, book and plant sales, as well as catering for league competitions at their venue.
Member Betty Straughan hosted a coffee day, which raised over £400 towards the £3,200 total.
Other members gave raffle prizes and collected donations.
Sheila Hutchinson, president of the Central Ladies Bowling League, presented a cheque for £2,000 to Sylvia Stoneham, of the Butterwick Hospice.
At the ceremony, which was held at the hospice in Bishop Auckland, £1,200 was also presented to Sue Cave, of the Great North Air Ambulance service.
