A CHILDREN'S nursery has passed an Ofsted check with flying colours.
The Cherry Tree Nursery, in North End, Sedgefield, was rated as very good in six areas of development and was found to provide a rich and stimulating learning environment.
Acting manager Claire Ogilvie welcomed the report's findings.
She said: "The nursery proprietors, Jane Thompson and Steve Hitch, and all the nursery staff are extremely pleased with the inspection report, which reflects the hard work staff put into the nursery.
"All our staff are committed to providing quality childcare for all of the children in our care."
The nursery looks after 47 youngsters aged under eight years old and has eight members of staff.
The inspection found that safety was given a high priority at the nursery, hygiene standards were very good and healthy meals and snacks were served.
Children behaved well, were confident and happy and related well with adults.
