SUNDERLAND'S £110m proposals for a bridge over the Wear and improvement of the transport network will go to public consultation tomorrow.
City of Sunderland Council and Sunderland Arc have organised the consultation and exhibition, which will take place at venues around the city.
The exercise is primarily to collect views from residents, business and property owners on the route options.
There will also be information on potential plans for cycle routes, bus priority lanes and more attractive landscaping of major roads.
Phil Barrett, director of development and regeneration at Sunderland City Council, said yesterday: "We need to have a first class transport system in the city to attract new jobs and investment to Sunderland.
"The options being explored in this exercise will help us build a 21st Century gateway to the city centre."
