A RECRUITMENT company is liaising with car dealerships across the North-East to find jobs for about 250 staff made redundant following the collapse of South Cleveland Garages.
Ingenia, based in Washington, Wearside, said it was talking to motor dealerships, including Reg Vardy, Mill Garages, Priory Garages and the Springfield Group about the workers.
The fate of 17 workers at South Cleveland Garages' Peugeot dealership in Hartlepool was secured on Thursday when Williamson Motors took over the franchise.
Brian Hodgson, the former general manager of South Cleveland Peugeot, said he was working with the recruitment company to help find jobs for staff at the retailer's other Peugeot showroom in Middlesbrough.
Mr Hodgson said: "My priority is to help my staff."
