A FIVE-MILE stroll offering views of the coast is to be held this weekend.
Hartlepool Borough Council's Local Nature Reserves officer Joe Davies has teamed up with the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust to stage the free Winter Warmer event on Sunday, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The route is from the Headland to Hart Station, visiting the Spion Kop Cemetery, soon to be declared a Local Nature Reserve, and Hart Warren Dunes.
There will be a chance to learn about the history, geology and wildlife of the area.
Walkers are advised to wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear, and there will be a cup of soup awaiting them at the end of the stroll.
Advance booking is essential as free transport will be provided back to the starting point at the Heugh Battery on the Headland. Places can be reserved by calling (01429) 853325.
