WORLD-RENOWNED saxophonist Lol Coxhill took to the road yesterday for his one-day countryside skip-tour.
He played a series of live concerts inside the empty skip, taking his own brand of improvised jazz to five venues in North Yorkshire.
He started the day in the Ryedale village of Brawby, before going to Malton, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley.
The tour was the idea of Simon Thackray, who runs The Shed arts venue, in Brawby. His previous creations include the Yorkshire Pudding Boat Race and the fish and chip van tour.
He said the idea of the skip tour was to generate interest in the free improvisation music that Lol plays.
