THE mayor of Darlington will be paying a visit to primary schools across the town in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday.
Councillor Roderick Francis is aiming to ensure that local youngsters are aware of the importance of the Poppy Appeal.
He will be joining in with school assemblies, together with Major Bob Jones, of the British Legion. Children will be told the history of the Poppy Appeal and given the opportunity to make a donation.
