POLICE have announced parking restrictions at Middlesbrough Football Club's Riverside Stadium on match days.
The traffic restrictions have been imposed for building work at the town's Middlehaven site and will be in place for tonight's UEFA Cup match.
The problem has been caused by the roadworks on the A66, ahead of the Middlehaven development.
Those roadworks have placed additional pressure on the limited parking places near the stadium.
Until further notice, on match days the following roads will be closed to traffic on match days: Cargo Fleet Road, Moor Road, Marsh Road and Keith Road. No traffic will be allowed over the railway crossing near the Navigation pub.
Only parking permit holders, or those intending to park in one of the car parks along Dockside Road should approach the stadium from any direction.
Middlesbrough fans who travel by organised coach will be brought to the stadium from the McDonalds or Cargo Fleet roundabouts and park along Dockside Road, facing the stadium.
Spectators travelling by car are advised to park well away from the stadium and walk to the ground.
Police anticipate that the restrictions will be in place until the end of the season and possibly into next season.
