MORE than 350 school children are to get an insight into a career in the Army.
Pupils from across North Yorkshire will attend the second science, technology, engineering and maths fair at Catterick Garrison next week.
The event has been organised by Five Battalion Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, together with the Business and Education Partnership for York and North Yorkshire.
The pupils will take part in activities including blacksmithing and go-karting. They will also watch firearms demonstrations.
Warrant officer Kevin Burnett, who has organised the event, said: "It is a fun way for pupils aged 14 to 16 to learn about engineering and the Army.
"They are given the opportunity to see for themselves how important engineering is in the armed forces, and how many different engineering careers that the Army has to offer."
