THE county's great and good will be featured in a regional version of a quintessential British institution.
The Yorkshire edition of Burke's Peerage and Gentry includes movers and shakers in the business world, artists, actors, writers - as well as the usual baronets, knights and landed gentry.
"As a serious reference work, the publication will be a unique tool for historians, librarians, business people, and anyone with Yorkshire connections," said Anne Christie, director of Burke's Peerage and Gentry, which has its headquarters in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.
"The criteria is that those who are featured must either have been born, live or work in Yorkshire."
The book, which will be published in May next year, features Judi Dench, Kevin Keegan, Michael Palin and Della Cannings, chief constable of North Yorkshire Police. To reserve a copy, visit www.burkes-peerage.net
