THREE physiotherapists have arrived in the North-East from India.
Jais Matthews, Pradeep Nair and Santosh Ayir-ookuzhi are working for the Durham and Chester-le-Street Primary Care Trust.
They were recruited to posts in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation service that had previously been difficult to fill.
They are working in the medical and respiratory wards at the University Hospital of North Durham and the day hospital and wards at Durham Community Hospital.
Each physiotherapist is taking part in a six-month adaptation period, during which they will be allocated individual mentors, who will carry out appraisals.
After the completion of this period, they will go on to do a six-month rotation in each of the areas they have been working in.
