THE Darlington Motor Club had a strong entry of 84 competitors for their last trial in 2004, which took place over three laps of an 11-section course at Woodhouse Farm, Reeth last Sunday.
Conditions were still slippery after all the previous rain, but Chris Tennant, riding a Bultaco, took the outright win by a margin of one mark from Gerald Richardson on his Beta.
Third overall was best novice Anthony Tempest, who finished just five marks behind Richardson and well clear of second novice Gavin Lowther on his Gas Gas.
The seventh section sorted out the entry, with eventual winner Tennant dropping a two and then two threes, while second-placed Richardson had two threes and a five at this section.
