League leaders Stokesley diverted their attentions to then Monkwearmouth Charity Cup and produced the same kind of form that has elevated them into joint top position.

However, the cup result of the day came from New Marske, their 5-2 victory rocking Darlington RA. Despite goals from Nigel Bolton and Mark Radmore, RA were well beaten. New Marske marksmen were Ian Johnson (2), Billy Millington, James Kesterton and Adam Taylor.

The bottom placed club were never in contention and Annfield Plain struck early twice through lee Tweedy. Although Thomas Dodkin replied further goals from Michael Murray and Tony Quinn demolished Washington's hopes.

Ferryhill's long trek proved fruitless when they lost at Cleator Moor Celtic 4-0. An own goal after five minutes by Stewart Cobham set the Cumbrians on their way and further strikes by Gareth Evans (2) and Zak Rudd left Ferryhill entrenched near the bottom.
