A RECYCLING initiative to discover Darlington residents' attitudes to refuse has drawn to a close.
The Waste Smart project, funded as part of a £450,000 Government initiative in County Durham and Darlington, has seen teams visiting 21,000 homes across the Darlington borough.
The eight-member teams have been speaking to people about household waste and the benefits of recycling.
The information-gathering project ended on Saturday, with the Waste Smart teams carrying out the last of their inquiries with shoppers in Darlington's Market Square.
Across the borough residents can already recycle glass bottles, aluminium and steel cans, paper and plastic bottles without having to journey from their homes.
