PEOPLE in Helmsley are to be asked for their views on the future of their market town.
Questionnaires will be sent out as part of a Renaissance Market Town initiative to boost the area's economy and environment.
Project leader councillor Martin Van der Weyer said a team of consultants had produced a draft plan which was being studied and amended before being put out to public consultation.
The plan focuses on several key issues including housing and where new buildings should be built if Helmsley is to expand.
Parking, conservation and traffic management will also be highlighted.
Coun Van der Weyer said: "Once the team is satisfied with the final draft of the report we shall publish a concise summary which will be delivered to every house."
A public exhibition in the town hall could be organised and people will once again be invited to put forward their opinions on what should happen to Helmsley in the future.
