PUPILS at a North Yorkshire school put their best feet forward to help a series of good causes.

Youngsters at Le Cateau primary school, in Catterick Garrison, stepped out on a sponsored walk and raised nearly £2,125.

The money is being split between a variety of causes, including the Great North Air Ambulance, children's charities in the Sudan and playground developments.

Air ambulance representative Susan Cave visited the school to receive £900 from Rosie Toms and Milan Limbu.

The sponsored walk was organised by teachers Joy Kerin and Barbara Auld and youngsters were joined by parents and friends.

Headteacher Graham Shepherd said: "The children have done really well in supporting these worthy causes. The walk was delightful and enjoyed by everyone. We know that the money will be very well used in the Sudan and by The Great North Air Ambulance."
