HARTLEPOOL United have taken Swedish frontman Olle Kullinger on trial as Neale Cooper searches for a target man to lead his forward line.
Kullinger, 6ft 1in, finished second top scorer in the Swedish top flight in 2003 with 15 goals.
This season he bagged five, as his side ended the campaign in second spot, two points behind champions Malmo.
Halmstads take on Norwegian side Brann Bergen in the Royal League, Scandinavia's mini-super league this week.
Meanwhile, defender Chris Westwood was full of praise for Saturday's match-winner Joel Porter. Westwood hailed Pool's Wizard of Oz after the Australian bagged two goals to seal victory.
"Joel's come on,'' he said. "It's always hard when you've played and then you are not playing. You probably get that feeling where you want to come on and prove the manager wrong.
"It was a big win because they were level on points with us. I think what we've got to do is keep winning at home.
"We got that win at Carlisle last week and hopefully that might change our fortunes away from home around now.''
