NEW members are welcome to join a club that offers support and social events to people with mobility problems.
Newton Aycliffe Mobility Club, which has just gained registered charity status, meets every fortnight at the British Legion Club in the town.
In the nine months it has been running, the club has organised outings, social events and art and computer classes and offered advice and support to its 80 members.
People of any age with any mobility problem are invited to attend its next meeting today at 12.30pm.
Spokesman Ernie Wilson said: "People who need a scooter, wheelchair, sticks or have difficulty getting around could benefit from the group. We have practical advice and get people out of the house and organise trips with these problems in mind."
