A YOUNG man had his jaw broken after being punched on his way home from a party.

The victim and his girlfriend were in Hutton Lane, in Guisborough, East Cleveland, at about 3am on Sunday when three youths asked them for cigarettes.

After saying he didn't smoke, the partygoer - from outside the area - was punched in the face. The victim's jaw needed to be wired in hospital.

All three youths were aged 19 to 20, with local accents. The attacker was 6ft 2in, possibly wearing light denim, with very short blond hair.
