POLICE are appealing to a man missing from home for five days to contact his family to let them know he is safe.
Robert Potter, 24, of Tenth Avenue, Chester-le-Street, was last seen by his brother at their home on Saturday, but was not reported missing until Monday.
Police say that recent bank transaction records indicated he may be in the Birmingham area.
Sergeant Andy Ward, of Durham Police, said: "This is the second time in a matter of weeks that Mr Potter has gone missing and he is considered a vulnerable individual.
"His family are unaware of any friends or contacts he may have outside Chester-le-Street and are very concerned for his wellbeing."
Mr Potter, a part-time student at New College Durham, who is employed locally as a chef, has not made contact with his employers to explain his absence.
He is described as thin, with a fair complexion, short, black straight hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses.
