ANDY Jordan last night waved goodbye to Hartlepool. The defender, signed in the summer of 2003, has not appeared in Pool's first team since the win at Stockport in October last year.
After being omitted from the reserve team, the son of former Leeds and Scotland striker Joe Jordan has left Victoria Park.
He said: "I came to Hartlepool after having quite a few injury problems at Cardiff and was happy to have got over them.
"But I had a few personal problems and in the end it was best that I left. I just want to go back to my family in Bristol and sort things out.''
After making only four league starts for Pool, he added: "Hopefully at some point I will get back into football.
"I would really like to thank the club for all they have done for me. I wish Hartlepool the best of luck - I am going to miss the lads."
Jack Ross is sure he is now over the injury problems which have plagued him since moving from Clyde this summer.
A knee injury in pre-season led to an operation and last weekend's win over Lincoln was his first start since September 4.
He replaced skipper Micky Barron at right back and admitted: "I have felt good since I have been back and I think the operation got rid of all the wee niggles I had.
"I have felt sharp when I have come on, although of course it is much better to start.
With Sheffield Wednesday providing the opposition tomorrow, Ross admits the chance to play at Hillsborough is something which caught his eye when considering his future.
"It is one of those clubs I looked at before I moved here and thought 'I would love to play there','' he admitted.
"That is why I was so glad to get in the team last week.
"They have such a big stadium and a lot of fans and it is the kind of place you want to go to as a player. I know a few of their players as well. They have a few Scottish lads like John Paul McGovern and Steven MacLean.
"I played with Adam Proudlock for a while when he was on loan to Clyde from Wolves."
