PRODUCERS of a community play are looking for aspiring actors to help develop the script.
Already, 70 people have shown an interest in the Richmondshire Community Play project.
Nine performance dates and venues have been confirmed for the summer.
North Country Theatre's Nobby Dimon, who is directing the play, and writer Mick Martin, are looking for more volunteers.
"The volunteers will be useful for us to try out some scenes and ideas to decide in which direction the play will go," said Robin Battersby, from arts development agency AiR, which is producing the play in association with English Heritage and North Country Theatre.
"We have held a number of workshops to identify potential characters, legends, stories and historical episodes that could influence what the play might be about, and now is the time to start deciding and shaping it up."
Script in progress sessions will be on Tuesday, from 7pm, at St Matthew's Church Hall, Leyburn, and on Wednesday, from 7pm, at Richmond Town Hall. For details, call (01969) 625142.
