PEOPLE are being invited to use the newly opened caf bar within Durham's Gala Theatre.
An area of the theatre has been refurbished to create Intervals.
Theatre bosses hope people will drop in to sample the fare throughout the day, rather than it be used just by theatre and cinema-goers attending events at the Gala.
Previously the bar and caf were located separately on the ground floor, but they have now been brought together offering a wide variety of drinks and meals.
The next plan is to re-locate the existing box office, now alongside the tourist information centre, to where the caf was previously situated, ensuring it is the first thing people see on arrival at the theatre.
Among the first to try the new look caf bar were some of the cast members of the latest production at the theatre, the Derek Benfield hit comedy Anyone for Breakfast.
Marketing manager Amy Lynch said: "We think Intervals is an excellent place to meet friends, relax and enjoy views of Durham."
