JANE Lishman from Darlington was on top form at Stainsby Grange Senior Show, Thornaby, where she won the 35-starter Elevator Discovery qualifier for the Blue Chip championships at Solihull next April.
She rode the seven-year-old Dutch-bred gelding Porto Ho to victory over Brian Candler's course.
Porto Ho was also runner-up in the Equissage Discovery the previous day behind local farrier John Brannen on Farm Hand. Jane, who will also be riding her other mount, Insomniac, at Solihull after finishing second at Moorhouse, Doncaster, said that the gelding was a bit green but improving at every show.
Michelle Glendenning put in a good challenge to take third place on Phoenix Nights, with other Solihull tickets going to Emma Wright on Gill and Stephanie Robinson's Irish Rhythm, Billy Davidson (More Artistic), Alison Lines (Rocktops Giggles), Holly Stevenson (Wiley Fox) and Emma Denton (Stainsby Multivision).
The latter won the Sue Carson Saddles/Alruba British Novice ahead of Fern Holmes on Miss Maize Mouse.
The 1.15m amateur championship qualifier for the finals at Addington, Bucks, was won by John Brannen on his prolific winner Creivestone.
This lovely grey really excelled to win ahead of Barbara Anderson (Gio Panache) and Helen Swailes (Tockas True Colours).
The 1.20m qualifier was won by 19-year-old Swedish rider Gabrielle Petersson, based at Lynn Barker's Northallerton stables, riding Landmark MB.
Hanna Penny, also based at Northallerton, was runner-up in the Young Riders with Lynn Barker's Sunboy behind former working hunter champion Thomas Janion on Rafiki II.
Gareth Watchman from Sedgefield won the Horse & Hound Foxhunter 1.20m open on Deadly Diamond ahead of Sarah Russell from Thirsk riding Gamble On.
Sarah was runner-up in the open on Colando behind Stainsby Sponeck, ridden by Joanne Tanfield.
David Harland won the strongly-contested 1.10m open riding Seacroft Lad ahead of Carla Bolam on Keep Ticking, while the Newcomers was won by Claire Craven with her prolific winner Galaxy Express.
