A NEW helpline has been launched to give people advice about a recycling initiative.
Sedgefield Borough Council is launching a telephone line for its Kerb-it Recycling service to help people to understand how the scheme works, get their opinions and ensure they are included.
Surveys showed that people who had questions or comments about the home collection service, for paper, glass and tin cans, or need replacement boxes wanted to talk directly to the council rather than a private contractor.
Residents whose green recycling boxes have been stolen and not yet replaced can call the helpline and a new box will be delivered free.
The helpline telephone number is (0800) 0855 395.
