MORE than 60 teenagers helped the Royal Air Force make an early start to their Children in Need fundraising.

They descended on the base at Linton-on-Ouse for a series of activities - including pulling a Tucano aircraft along the runway.

During the afternoon, there was a competition to paint as many toenails as possible, shoot basketball hoops and spin around a pole before trying to score a goal in football.

Station commander Dave Harrison said: "It was a great sight, seeing so many youngsters having fun on the base. This is one of our best Children in Need weeks yet."

The youngsters raised more than £2,000 for the appeal.
