Spennymoor will host an annual music contest for the last time this weekend as the event will move to a new venue next year.
The 28th Brass in Concert Championship will be held at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on Sunday, featuring ten of the UK's leading bands.
The contest is recognised as the top musical event of its kind in the country.
Each brass band will perform a different half hour set to a sell-out audience of 1,000 in a bid to win first prize of £2,000.
The current holders of the title are the Grimethorpe Colliery UK Coal Band, which featured in the film Brassed Off.
The band is expected to face tough competition from last year's runners-up Sellers International Band and local favourites, the Reg Vardy (Ever Ready) Band.
Sunday will be the 19th and final time the championship is held Spennymoor as it will move to the concert hall, Sage Gateshead, which can accommodate 1,650 people.
