HUNDREDS are expected to gather for a town's annual Christmas lights ceremony.
The theme of this year's Shildon Christmas procession is Kings and Angels and many youngsters are expected to turn up in fancy dress.
Those taking part need to meet in the Co-op car park at 4.30pm on Friday, December 3, before a short procession to the town square for the official switch-on of the festive lights.
There will be a craft fair in the centre of the town which will be open from noon until 6.30pm. There will also be a magician, children's disco, juggler and face painting in the Civic Hall from 5pm. Santa will be making a guest appearance.
Anyone wishing to take part, can telephone Shildon Town Council on (01388) 772563.
