A DOG which was abandoned by his owners in south-west Durham is looking for a new home.

Archie, a lurcher cross, was taken in by Angela Taylor several weeks ago and has been undergoing treatment for sores acquired after he was left to sleep in his own urine.

Mrs Taylor, who looks after abandoned dogs, said Archie had been in a pitiful state when she found him.

She said: "He would be well suited to live with someone who can spend a lot of time with him and spoil him. If someone were to show him love he would make the ideal companion."

Anyone who can offer Archie a home can call Mrs Taylor on (01388) 812782.
