AN RAF base said goodbye to its commanding officer yesterday with a formation flypast.
Group Captain Dave Harrison, Station Commander at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, near York, leaves after two-and-a-half years in charge.
He has been posted to Qatar, where he will be in command of RAF personnel and aircraft deployed in the Gulf and Afghanistan.
Yesterday, he handed over command of the station to Group Captain Andy Sudlow after leading a diamond nine formation of Tucanos. The formation flew in honour of the ten graduating pilots from No 209 course.
Gp Capt Harrison said: "I have had a great tour at Linton and although today is tinged with sadness, I could not have asked to leave in a better fashion."
Gp Capt Sudlow arrived in Linton from the MoD.
